Located on Poljanska cesta, you might spot Brot by the long line that often forms in front of it during weekends - and for good reason. Their croissants and breads are extremely popular, especially on weekends. While the pastries are a bit on the pricier side, the flaky delicacies with homemade cream fillings are exceptional and should not be missed (personal favourite here is definitely the vanilla croissant). If you’re more of a savoury lover, try their focaccia or quiche for breakfast.

Though it's located a bit outside the city center, in Rožna dolina, Art Bread is worth a stop if you’re nearby. They sell sourdough loaves, buttery flaky croissants, cookies, zucchini muffins, and a variety of other baked goods. Personal favourites include the bread with fried onion and their croissants. But beware - it’s so popular it often sells out hours before closing time, so you might leave empty-handed.
Also on Poljanska cesta, tucked away in a corner, is a little shop called Malo Drugače (a little different). It offers amazing sourdough breads, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and banana bread muffins. They also opened Bagel Point, which serves bagels and bagel sandwiches - a rare find in Ljubljana.

Known for its fantastic range of baked goods, Osem specializes in high-quality artisan breads and pastries. Check out their various types of sourdough bread, or grab a pastry such as a roll, croissant, or pain suisse.
If you’re looking for convenience, two common franchise bakeries you’ll find in the city are Žito and Mlinar. Besides breads and pastries, they also offer various sandwiches and salads, as well as warm burek for a quick meal on the go.
