Slovenia is proud of its brewing history, and if you spend enough time here, you'll definitely hear about the legendary rivalry between Union and Laško – the two biggest breweries, each tied to its own region and loyal fanbase.

Union Brewery: Located right in Ljubljana, Union not only brews one of Slovenia's most iconic beers but also offers guided tours where you can learn about the history and beer making, as well as try some of their beers. The brewery also has its own restaurant with a garden - perfect spot to relax with a pint and delicious food after exploring the rich history.
Laško Beer: More common in eastern Slovenia, but you'll still find it in most bars. Try both and decide where your loyalty lies!

Ljubljana's craft beer scene has grown rapidly in recent years.
